Pierce Trips is proud to present Rideshare Month, October 1-31! This year’s theme “Pardner Up” encourages folks to replace drive-alone trips with rideshare trips. What is ridesharing? It can be carpooling, vanpooling, taking the bus, light rail, or Sounder train.
Getting ready for Rideshare Month? Request your ORCA card to attend the City of University Place Oktoberfest celebration on Friday, October 14. You can walk, bike, or take the Pierce Transit Route 2 to and from this celebration.
Other events to take transit to this October:
On Aug. 29, Pierce Transit launched the Spanaway Runner service which provides on-demand transportation connecting community members with destinations and transit hubs within Spanaway, Parkland and Midland.
Book your Runner trip by downloading the Goin App (iOS/Android) on your smartphone or calling 253-270-1340. A Runner trip costs the same as regular transit fare.
The 2022 Washington Bike, Walk, Roll Summit will take place virtually, Sept. 28-30 and in person in Spokane, WA on Oct. 3. This year the Summit theme is "Building Just and Resilient Communities." Virtual registration is free with a $10 suggested donation. Scholarships offered by Cascade Bicycle Club are available to attend the conference in person.
Who has the coolest commute to work? Probably Robert W. with the City of Sumner. And his e-scooter isn't the only reason why his commute is cool.
