Three Great Reasons to Ride Your Bike

The Bike Everywhere Challenge ends May 31! You still have plenty of time to get your 10 bike trips in to be eligible for prizes. Log your bike trips on PierceTrips.com for your chance to win. Plan your route to a game, a restaurant or museum free third Thursday

Three great reasons to participate in the Bike Everywhere Challenge:

  1. Bicycling is a great way to destress. Take in the sights and sounds that you would miss when you drive a car. What do you see along your route? Share your bike photos on social media with the tags #BikeMonth and #PierceTrips to enter a $5 gift code drawing.
  2. It’s a great family activity! Get fitted for helmets (call locations first), bike to the park, get ice cream or enjoy a trail
You can earn prizes! In addition to the Bike Everywhere Challenge prizes, you can win even more prizes by completing Downtown On the Go’s Bike Bingo challenge by May 31.

 

 

Hilltop Tree Walk

Downtown On the Go Walk on Wednesday, June 1

Learn about the architectural history of several iconic buildings in downtown’s brewery district on the next in-person tour of the 2022 Walk Tacoma series. The 1.1-mile walk will begin at the bottom of the UW-Tacoma stairs on Wednesday, June 1 at 6 pm. The tour will highlight the evolution of brewery spaces in downtown, including historic companies and new additions to the district. Stick around at 7 Seas – the last tour stop – for a post-walk social. After the in-person walk, the tour will be available on the free GeoTourist app.

Transit Trivia on Thursday, June 9

Are you a transit fan? Do you pride yourself on your route and schedule savvy? Form a team or compete solo at the Pierce County Transit Trivia on Thursday, June 9 from 6 – 8 pm at 7 Seas Brewing in downtown Tacoma! This family-friendly event is hosted by Pierce Transit, Downtown On the Go and Pierce Trips to celebrate Ride Transit Month (June). There will be snacks and prizes.

Take Transit to Ocean Fest

Pierce Trips is partnering with Ocean Fest to encourage folks to take transit to their events throughout June. Arrive by bus, Link Light Rail, Pierce Transit Runner, or combine transit with bicycling. If you lack transportation or want to try transit, you can request your transit pass here.
