Bike Month starts May 1; this is the perfect time to prep for your new adventure. With the weather warming up, why not take a break from high gas prices and arrive by bike? This year’s theme, Bike Everywhere, encourages people to try short trips, work trips and non-work trips by bike. How to get involved with Bike Month:
Did you know you can start a vanpool with just three people who live and work near each other and have similar schedules? Vanpool fares cover fuel, insurance, maintenance, and tolls. Vanpoolers also get to use the HOV lanes. Most importantly, if you a vanpool, the first month is free!

Learn about the trees in Hilltop on the next in-person tour of the 2022 Walk Tacoma series. The 1.5-mile walk, led by the Tacoma Tree Foundation will begin at People’s Park in Tacoma on Wednesday, May 4 at noon. After the in-person walk, the tour will be available on the free GeoTourist app.
